The <strong>current timetable and fares remain unchanged<\/strong>. If the operator makes adjustments in the future (in agreement with the city), <strong>they will not affect peak times<\/strong>. The aim is to use buses as efficiently as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Will I lose credit on my prepaid card?<\/strong><br>No. The <strong>remaining balance will be transferred<\/strong> when you exchange your old card. The new card will also work in the <strong>Integrated Transport System of the \u017dilina Region (IDS \u017dK)<\/strong>, offering savings on combined travel. Details will be provided later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Is transport free for passengers?<\/strong><br>Yes. From <strong>1 to 10 October 2025<\/strong>, MAD will be <strong>free of charge for all passengers<\/strong>. During this period, new ticketing systems will be installed and old cards exchanged. From <strong>11 October 2025<\/strong>, travel will only be possible with a valid ticket according to the tariff or a prepaid card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Has the free travel period been extended?<\/strong><br>Yes. Free travel is <strong>extended until Sunday, 19 October 2025 (inclusive)<\/strong>. From <strong>Monday, 20 October 2025<\/strong>, MAD will be charged according to the price list.<br>Passengers who have not yet obtained a new card are kindly asked to do so <strong>as soon as possible<\/strong> at Umbrella info centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do boarding and alighting work?<\/strong><br>Rule: <strong>boarding through the front doors, alighting through the rear doors<\/strong>.<br>Reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ticket control,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>safety,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>clearer passenger movement,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>smoother boarding and alighting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where can I find the info centres and when are they open?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passengers can use <strong>one information centre<\/strong>, located at the <strong>bus station<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opening hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday \u2013 Friday<br>8:00 a.m. \u2013 12:00 p.m.<br>12:00 p.m. \u2013 12:30 p.m. break<br>12:30 p.m. \u2013 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday, Sunday: <strong>closed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the information centre, trained staff will assist you mainly with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>issuing a new card,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>replacing an existing card,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>providing information about public transport and related services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How can I contact you? Will there be online channels?<\/strong><br>From <strong>1 October 2025<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>info line: <strong>0940&nbsp;503&nbsp;373<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>e-mail: <strong><a>ruzomberok@umbrellacitylines.sk<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>dedicated website<\/strong> and <strong>Facebook page<\/strong> for MAD Ru\u017eomberok are being prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What about prepaid cards and bus payments?<\/strong><br>From 1 October, old ticketing systems are being replaced. During the transition, <strong>not all drivers may be able to accept old cards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Always show your card to the driver<\/strong>, even if not yet replaced.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the system is not yet fully functional, <strong>the fare will not be deducted<\/strong>, but you still need to present the card.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Single tickets<\/strong> (at the usual price) can be purchased from the driver.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do I exchange my old prepaid card?<\/strong><br>From <strong>6 October 2025<\/strong> at Umbrella info centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fee: \u20ac9<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the card <strong>remains your property<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the balance will be transferred,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the new card works in <strong>IDS \u017dK<\/strong>.<br>Passengers are kindly asked to exchange their cards as soon as possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Card Payments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why did I pay more than the ticket price?<\/strong><br>It is a <strong>pre-authorisation<\/strong> \u2013 the system temporarily blocks a higher amount (e.g. \u20ac1). After settlement, the <strong>exact fare is deducted<\/strong> and the remainder released.<br>For <strong>MasterCard<\/strong>, card validity is often checked with a \u20ac1 reservation, which is released after settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How are payments processed?<\/strong><br>According to VISA\/MasterCard rules for transport, payments are processed in <strong>off-line mode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Amounts for tickets are <strong>accumulated<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The total is deducted in <strong>one transaction<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When will money leave my account?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>VISA<\/strong>: one amount daily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MasterCard<\/strong>: combined after a few days.<br>Neither the carrier nor the bank can influence this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do I need to enter a PIN?<\/strong><br>No, <strong>bus terminals do not require a PIN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Which cards are accepted?<\/strong><br>All contactless <strong>VISA and MasterCard<\/strong> (debit, credit, prepaid).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What if I lose or my card is stolen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Immediately contact your issuing bank,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Block the card,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dispute any transactions at your bank.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What if the system refuses my card?<\/strong><br>Possible reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the card was <strong>not activated<\/strong> (first transaction with PIN required),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>insufficient funds<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>card reported <strong>lost\/stolen<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>contactless disabled<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>card is <strong>too old<\/strong> and does not support off-line authorisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Recommendation: <strong>try your card on MAD before regular use<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Message to passengers<\/strong><br>During the first <strong>three months of trial operation<\/strong>, we will <strong>promptly respond<\/strong> to all issues.<br>We kindly ask for <strong>patience and tolerance<\/strong> \u2013 these changes are necessary to make public transport more comfortable and of higher quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>tel.: <strong>0940&nbsp;503&nbsp;373<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>e-mail: <strong><a>ruzomberok@umbrellacitylines.sk<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From 1 October 2025, city public transport in Ru\u017eomberok will be operated by an Umbrella City Lines SK, s.r.o..
